Prince Tui Teka – E Ipo

Prince Tui Teka – E Ipo lyrics

E Ipo

Ki a koe te tau
äku mihi e.
Ahakoa haere koe ki hea
maku rä koe e whai atu e.
Ko taku aroha
ka ü tonu.
Tëna ra e hine
huri mai rä ki ahau e tau nei
hei, utanga atu,
e Ipo.

Otirä, e hine,
kua taunga kë tënei tinana,
aue, ki te aroha
e Ipo. (e i pö!)

My darling Missy
You are always on my mind
Wherever you may go
You take a part of me.

My love for you is endless
Keep me always in your heart
For you are a special part of me.
My never-ending love.

Tëna ra e hine
huri mai rä ki ahau e tau nei
hei, utanga atu,
e Ipo.

Ki te aroha e Ipo.

To you, my darling
my greetings.
No matter where you go
I will follow/court/be there you.
My love
will remain firm.
Come my beloved,
turn to me as I stand here
and I shall carry
your love with me.

Indeed, beloved
my whole self is at home
aue, with (your) love
my darling. (Eh! at night!)

Come my beloved,
turn to me as I stand here
and I shall carry
your love with me.

My never-ending love.

  1. hey, yes i love thaT SONG, EVERTIME I HEAR IT I GO INTO A DEEP STATE OF SADNESS, NOT ONLY FOPR PRINCE, BUT FOR MISSY TOO, WHO I KNEW VERY WELL,
    FROM, FRED EWART, NAPIER,

  2. I AM ACTUALLY VERY SENSABLE WHEN IT COMES TO SAD SONGS, THE MAN, THE LEGEND, HAD A WAY OF MAKING PEOPLE LAUGH, AND THEN MAKING THEM SAD, BUT NOT IN THAT ORDER, THANK GOD,

    FROM: FRED EWART,

  3. you know there are not very many maori entertainers that i like, most of them are racist, two faced, and they come from a background as being ‘maori activists’, because they believed in one thing, and that is the maori way of life, that actually changed for them in the 18th centary, but they still want to live in the past, with there, ‘this is our land”, the pakeha stole it’, its sickening, howard morrison was very racist, he hated everything pakeha, well, that was untill he was knighted, and then he became sir howie, and that is everything pakeha, so does that mean he is a traitor to his maori whanau, maori activists run riot in new zealand, but when they have abit of power, like joining the maori political party, they then turn traitor on the maori people and think only of themseleves,
but there is a light at the end of the tunnel for maori, and that came in the shape and form of one man, yeh, prince tui teka, now he was a true maori, a true new zealander, he told his pakeha jokes, he was honest, he liked everyone, and in the end, we pakeha liked him and his music, but as for the rest of you plastic maori copycats, we are all one, this land is our land, and if you want the foreshores and seabeds, i think you can live where ever you like, bye,
from: Fred Ewart, a true kiwiana guy,
